NASHVILLE (WRCB) The driver of a Dodge Stratus that crashed into a tractor in the 3400 block of Lebanon Pike on June 23rd killing a 13 year old girl will face charges in Nashville after he is released from jail in Chattanooga.Jonathan L. Flippo, 18, who was arrested over the weekend in Chattanooga for vandalism and evading arrest, is wanted in Nashville on charges of leaving the scene of an accident involving death, failure to report an accident, driving without a license, and possession of drug paraphernalia.Jessica Burkhart of Chattanooga, a rear seat passenger in the Stratus, was killed when the car crashed into a John Deere tractor on the shoulder of Lebanon Pike. Flippo fled the scene to a nearby apartment complex. He and two other passengers were subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision. The investigation led to the issuance of arrest warrants against Flippo on June 26th.CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) We are finding out more about Johnathan Flippo, his alleged propensity for violent outbursts and an extensive history with the criminal justice system.The 18 year old Rossville, Georgia man was arrested Saturday in Hamilton County. This time he is charged with vandalism, malicious mischief and evading arrest. He is being held in jail on five thousand dollars bond.Last month, Flippo was the driver of a car which collided with a tractor on the side of a road in Nashville. 13 year old Jessica Burkhart was in the backseat of that car. She was killed in the accident. Two other teens were injured. Officers say Flippo fled the scene on foot and was finally rounded up in a nearby apartment complex. In that incident, he now faces charges of driving without a license, failure to report an accident, possession of drug paraphernalia and leaving the scene of an accident involving death which is a felony.Flippo has a long list of charges waiting for him in Catoosa County, Georgia, as well. There are felony indictments for everything from making terroristic threats (Flippo allegedly said he would burn a neighbor house down) to theft. He is accused of stealing a truck in October of 2008. Other charges include disorderly conduct, leaving the scene of another accident in which he was a driver and allegedly at fault and driving without a license. A criminal damage to property was issued after officers say he threw a brick at a car last December.Johnathan Flippo is being held at the Hamilton County Jail. He is due in court on July 23.
