As of January 2017 The Bureau Of Labor Statistics reports that for students who graduate with bachelor degrees before December 2016, the unemployment rate for was only 2.5 percent.
That means that only one out of every 40 college graduates is unemployed.
And whether you receive your diploma in December or May, your odds of getting a job are more or less the same.
However, some students don have to worry about getting a job after college because they come in with a job already.
“Yeah I already have a job,” Parth Kumar B. Patel said. “So I pretty happy about that. I don have to go and hunt for a job right away.”
In 2015 Parth Kumar B. Patel entered into ISU to obtain his accounting degree while opening up a business in West Terre Haute.
Even though Patel had a job not getting a good education wasn an option.
“Because I don know how the business is going to go so I really want to have a back up,” Patel said. “And I don want to go to school when I am thirty five and I really want to get this done.”
According to National Center For Education, 88% of students who graduated in 2016 with bachelors degrees were employed a year or less after graduation.
