Farm, ranch coverage deadline nears
Farmers and ranchers have until Aug. 1 to enroll in this year’s Agriculture Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage programs, officials said. Department of Agriculture’s Alabama Farm Service Agency.
McCloud said commodities covered under the programs include barley, canola, large and small chickpeas, corn, crambe, flaxseed, grain sorghum, lentils, mustard seed, oats, peanuts, dry peas, rapeseed, long grain rice, medium grain rice, safflower seed, sesame, soybeans, sunflower seed and wheat.
Tuscumbia approves June expenses
TUSCUMBIA The City Council on Monday unanimously approved June expenditures totaling $665,978.
The costs include $363,911 toward the general fund, $248,596 in payroll and $53,471 in special funds.
Hatch Boulevard resurfacing begins Sunday night
SHEFFIELD A resurfacing project on Hatch Boulevard from near Gararge Road to O’Neal Bridge will begin Sunday.
The $1,082,127 project is expected to be completed in 35 working days and will take place at night.
According to 2015 Alabama Department of Transportation traffic data, average daily traffic numbers on Hatch Boulevard range from 15,860 near Garage Road to 31,120 on Jackson Highway near the south approach to O’Neal Bridge.
